Jesús René Capó, CPA, is Vice President and CIO of El Dorado Furniture Corporation, a family-owned business in South Florida established in 1967. El Dorado Furniture, founded by Capó’s father along with his five brothers, is the largest Hispanic furniture retailer in the United States and is ranked in the top fifty of all furniture retailers in the country.
Jesús René , a Certified Public Accountant and a Florida Licensed Real Estate Broker, has been a regular guest speaker at the business schools of Miami-Dade College and Florida International University, as well as for many small to medium-sized business retail summits and forums. His topics have included the use of technology in the retail environment, entrepreneurship, working in a family business, and transitioning to the next generation. Jesús has been on the Advisory Board to Florida International University’s Entrepreneurship Center, various non-profit and religious entities in South Florida, and is currently the 2019 President of the Home Furnishings Association (HFA). His current title at El Dorado Furniture is that of Chief Information Officer, but being in a family business means he gets to wear whatever hat fits on a particular day.
